Royal Birkdale
Apparently voted one of Britain’s finest golf clubs according to the official website, Royal Birkdale hosted the Open in 2008 when Padraig Harrington won the competition.
The Royal Birkdale Golf Club is right on the coast in Southport in north west England. Southport is a traditional British seaside resort so there are plenty of hotels and accommodation available as well as lot's of other entertainment for visitors.
The Prince of Wales is an elegant Victorian style four star hotel right in the centre of Southport with landscaped gardens and close to the sea.
