2017 details coming soon!
The 2016 Open Golf Championships will take place in Royal Troon, located on the west coast of Scotland in Troon, near Prestwick, between Kilmarnock and Ayr and a little way south of Glasgow.
The Club has hosted the Open eight times, last in 2004, won by Todd Hamilton in a 4-hole playoff against Ernie Els.
The last six Opens at Royal Troon have been won by Americans, so it will be interesting to see what happens in 2016.
The course includes both the longest and shortest holes in Open Championship golf, the Postage Stamp 8th hole measuring just 123 yards (shown to the right) and the Turnberry 6th hole running 601 yards.
