Carnoustie
A small town on the east coast of Scotland between Dundee and Arbroath, Carnoustie played host to the 2007 Open Golf Championships when Pádraig Harrington won a thrilling play off against Garcia.
The Open has been held in Carnoustie seven times. The giant links course is among the toughest and most demanding of the great seaside championship links in Britain.
Carnoustie lies ten miles to the East of the City of Dundee, and is within a 25 mile drive of St. Andrews. Carnoustie is just a small town, so a much greater range of accommodation can be offered by neighbouring Dundee and St. Andrews.
St. Andrews is internationally recognised as the Home Of Golf. The town's six links courses (all publicly owned) suit golfers of all abilities. St. Andrews has an extremely rich history, inhabited since the 6th century; it played a major part in Scotland's medieval history. Today it boasts Scotland's premier university and a rich cultural and community life.
The Carnoustie Hotel, Golf Resort & Spa (pictured right) is one of Scotland's ultimate luxury four star destinations, right next to the 1st tee and the 18th green! Take your pick from 75 deluxe bedrooms, 6 suites or 4 presidential suites.
