The 2009 Open Championship will take place at Turnberry. There are currently limited accommodation options in Turnberry, but the nearest large town is Ayr, around 10 miles away, with plenty of hotels.

Unfortunately Westin Resort Turnberry, pictured right, is undergoing renovation work at the moment and will be closed until after the event.

Fairfield House Hotel, featured on our homepage is a four star hotel located in Ayr with spectacular coastal views.

More affordable is the modern Express by Holiday Inn Ayr Hotel with 84 bedrooms, minutes walk from Ayr Racecourse and also close to the Burns National Heritage Park where you can visit the birthplace of Robert Burns.
