What Happened at the 2023 Open in Hoylake

The 2023 Open at Royal Liverpool 15th – 25th July 2023, saw Brian Harman claim his first major title with a six-shot victory, finishing at 13 under par and received a $3 million winner’s check. Harman began the final day with a five-stroke lead and maintained his composure despite challenging weather conditions.

Temperatures were generally in the range of 14-17°C and wind speeds were between 16-32 km/h. On Sunday there was continuous rain affecting play, requiring players to wear rain gear and use umbrellas.

Notable performances included Rory McIlroy and Jon Rahm, who both made early surges but couldn’t sustain their momentum.

Golf on the Wirral, Merseyside

Royal Liverpool isn’t the only golf club on the Wirral, in fact there are 19 on my count, including Caldy Golf Club, Heswall Golf Club, Wallasey Golf Club and Leasowe Golf Club.

Significant Premium for Property Rental

Properties around Hoylake, can generate a significant rental premium for the week of the open 20 – 30 July and during the run up to the Open in June and July 2023. Premium properties can earn over £10,000 for the week as golf stars, the media circus and celebrities descend to the Wirral Peninsula for a few days.
