There is plenty to see within walking distance of the village, including Cassillis Castle (not open to the public), built in the 15th century. Culzean Castle overlooking the Firth of Clyde and many other activities, with miles of good sandy beaches are all easily accessible.
There are several renowned golf courses in the area as well as Troon, including Turnberry, Prestwick Golf Club which is known as one of the oldest golf clubs in the world, Belleisle Golf Course and Dundonald Links.
